RESIDENCY SERVICES

A YWCA Malden Initiative to Prevent Homelessness:

Access to Affordable Housing

Our Residency Program provides a safe, affordable and supportive place for women to call home.

Residents have easy access to public transportation, employment opportunities, educational programs, and social service agencies.

The YWCA Malden’s Women's Residency is a Malden-based housing program that provides a safe, affordable and supportive place for women to call home while they work or go to school on a full time basis. This well-maintained 21 unit Victorian home is located in the heart of downtown Malden. Residents have easy access to public transportation, employment opportunities, educational programs, financial literacy training and social service agencies. Each resident enjoys a private studio, as well as congregate kitchen and living space.

There are 21 women living at Willcox Hall at any given time, each one demonstrating various states of risk/self-sufficiency. Many residents are immigrants who are stabilizing their lives and acclimating to life in the United States. Other women need job training or financial management skills so they can more effectively maintain an apartment on their own. Still other residents are young women who lack a familial support system and find themselves alone, without the resources to determine a course of action. Every Willcox Hall resident works towards her own financial self-sufficiency.
