NOTICE TO MEMBERS

YWCA MALDEN

ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING
and
Celebration of Community Support

Wednesday October 8th, 2014

6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

YWCA Women’s Residency, 80 Mountain Avenue-Court Yard Entrance, Malden, MA

Please join us for our Annual Business meeting – 6:00 p.m.

We will elect 4 new board members, along with the 2014 nominating committee. In addition, our members are being asked to approve changes in the agency by-laws. Changes relate to the restructuring of YWCA USA and the new language needed for local association compliance.

This is also a great opportunity to say farewell to our out-going board President, Diana Jeong and Treasurer, Donna Haynes. In addition the board will elect a new slate of officers.

Join us as we celebrate community support with the rededicate of our Women of Diversity Mural in honor of Townline Paint of Malden --7:00 p.m.

Our mural served as the inspiration for a "color makeover" of the Great Hall of the YWCA Residency by our friends from Townline Paint. They donated hundreds of gallons of paint, along with beautiful custom pleated shades. In addition, Townline Paint provided us with a team of talented professional painters and rehab specialists who invested hundreds of volunteer hours in the transformation of the Hall. We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of all.

Street Parking, Post Office Lot Parking, or Park at 54 Washington Street and walk over.

RSVP: (781) 322-3760

money talks

What: Money Talks is a workshop series that promotes savvy budgeting as a woman's first step to financial literacy.
  • Many people want to improve their financial situations, but don’t know where to start. The YWCA Malden “Money Talks!” workshop offers a one-word answer: BUDGET.
  • In four weeks, low- and moderate-income women learn how creating, modifying realistically, and sticking to a budget can empower them to control and drive their own financial lives. During and after the course, participants continue in relationship with their local financial institutions, and with the YWCA, through additional money-related programs, conversations, and mentoring and incentives.
  • “Money Talks!” is an interactive class that draws the expertise out of each participant. The women in the class help one another, sharing scenarios and strategies—an exercise that teaches and empowers each participant to take charge of her money.
Where: 54 Washington Street, a five-minute walk from the Malden Center MBTA station at Malden Square
When: Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m., May 4, 11, 18, & 25, 2005
Cost: Cost to women who reside or work in Malden: $20, which includes a workbook, calculator, and discussions with local female professionals in banking and finance.  Scholarships may be available.
