YWCA Malden's Middle School Program set to be Exemplary!
YWCA Malden, together with the Ferryway School is excited to announce that they are in the process of applying for Department of Early and Secondary Educations (DESE) 21st Century Learning Centers funding to support its middle school (6th-8th grade) program at the Ferryway. YWCA first was awarded 21st CCLC funds in school year 2014-15 and this application will move the program from a promising site to an exemplary program site. The focus of the grant funding to provide students with a rich blend of academic enrichment, civic engagement, physical activity and service learning opportunities during the after school and summer time.
Working with the Ferryway Administration, staff, families and community, the YWCA aims at offers programming that prepares our middle school student to be socially, emotionally and academically ready to meet the challenges and embrace the opportunities high school and beyond has to offer.
